The Aquarian Sadhana by Yogi Bhajan

From the very beginning, Yogi Bhajan talked about the grand transition and maturation of human beings that would mark the Aquarian Age. Everything he taught us was to prepare us for this transition in the year 2012. After that we will begin to see all that he envisioned. We will need intuition, stamina, both physical and mental, self-awareness, and a new depth of spiritual experience that can hold our identity in the face of global changes, relentless competition, information overload, and ecological and environmental challenges.

He gave us the Aquarian Sadhana in 1992 to take us through this transition period and to prepare our psyches to excel in the new environments in the decades after 2012. He envisioned an end to the world as we think of it now-not an end to the world. What sadhana can give us is the awareness, the fearlessness, the compassion, kindness, and the spirit to serve, teach and prosper no matter what changes happen within in us and around us?

The Aquarian Sadhana meditation series is the contemplative technology to master your mind and prepare your consciousness for the new Age. He asked us to practice it worldwide until 2012 and beyond; it could be practiced throughout the Aquarian Age. It attunes your gunas (elements), your chakras (energy centers) and your mind to the change of the Age.

The total time for this sequence of mantras is 62 minutes. They can be done with any meditative musical melody that preserves the Naad and rhythm of the mantras. Only one mantra requires a specific posture and mudra.

1. Morning Call: (7 minutes)
Ek Ong Kaar, Sat Naam Siree, Wha-hay Guroo
The cornerstone of this morning sadhana is the Adi Shakti Mantra, also called Long Ek Ong Kars or Morning Call. This mantra awakens the kundalini, initiating the relationship between our soul and the Universal Soul.
Long Ek Ong Kars are chanted without musical accompaniment, whereas the six mantras that follow may be chanted using various melodies with or without instrumental accompaniment. (Musicians take note: instruments are for background to accompany and support the voice. Also, be sure to preserve the original rhythm of the mantra by keeping the length of the syllables intact.)

2. Waah Yantee: (7 Minutes)
Waah Yantee, Kar Yantee, Jag Dut Patee,
Aadak /t Whaa-haa, Brahmaaday Trayshaa Guroo
It Wha-hay Guroo

The Mul Mantra gives an experience of the depth and consciousness of your soul. In chanting the Mul Mantra leave a slight space (not a breath) between ajoonee and saibhang. Do not run the words together. Emphasize the “ch” sound at the end of the word “such.”
